December in a Dash: the first half before leaving!!!!

We had a wonderful Christmas season - and we definitely celebrated the entire month long.  In fact, I like the season more then the actual Christmas day and so have tried to have my children love it as much as me.  We were very busy trying to fill our days with giving and talking about the true meaning, along with all the fun activities that we normally do.  Here are some pics of some of the things we did.

New Christmas Jammies - always happens at the first of the month!

Lots of Hot Chocolate and reindeer dropping nights!

Time spent in Griffin's classroom - Ivy was in heaven and was talking on her phone to her friend Hazel here!

Trip to Toys R Us to see what the kiddos are into, and also what they think others their age might enjoy!

Presents each day of things or activities to do:  This one was for us to keep and started a new tradition!

A book for us to set out and talks about giving and a boy who took the bag inside and put toys for others in and Santa comes to get it and delivers them (the kids were super excited to pull toys from their shelves they didn't use and give them away!) One of the better activities we did!

Lots of Baking Goodies for others and delivering them!

White Chocolate popcorn a favorite around here - with peppermint M&M's!

The best little helper baker I have!

 The delivering Elves!

Enjoying a peppermint cupcake after the deliveries were complete!

Another favorite tradition is the letters from Santa and special messages that they get to watch each year!

A trip to the Grove to see Santa, and also check out the steamer daddy was interested in!

Aunt Emma joined in the fun of the Grove with us!

Brunch with dad while waiting to see Santa - serious business picking out what to have!

Went on this fun bus ride - unfortunately lost Griffin's cute hat and gloves on it!

Outside Santa's cottage and with Frosty (Ivy was terrified of Frosty and the Gingerbread man!)

The biggest decorated tree I have EVER seen (might even be bigger then the one in Time Square!)

Our annual walk to Candy Cane Lane this year did not disappoint and was a fun outting with friends!

Frozen house - SOOOO cool and Ivy's favorite!

Beautiful sunset while I was out Christmas shopping - just couldn't pass up taking a pic and enjoying how pretty the place is where we live!

Enjoyed the First Presidency message on Sunday!

Gingerbread houses were a fun activity with daddy one night!

Running at the beach was fun because it was festive, but also warm!

We played a part in our ward Christmas program!

Stories with our blankets from aunt Cynthia and hot chocolate!

 Tried on new ski gear!

New hot chocolate mugs for the kiddos!

Drove around to see the lights!

Took our friends to the LA temple to see the lights!

Went to Disney on Ice with Friends - super fun and Ivy was the most entranced by the show!

Ivy showed up in her Christmas dress and was matching with her friend Maddie - had to get a pic!

Our ward Christmas party was awesome and was about the tree of life!  AN amazing display and setup and take home ornament of the tree!

Lots of fun helping out in Griff's classroom!

Surprise visit from Santa to Griff's class the last day - included presents for each child and was totally a blast!  Ivy at first was crying but even went up and posed for a picture!

She wanted her present more then she was scared so went and got it!

The whole gang!

Griff got a bow and arrow and Ivy got her Mickey Mouse dolls - super big hit with these two!

Singing at the senior center before we left for Utah!

What a great season!  Next post will be the Utah festivities and Santa pics!
