Have you ever?

Seen a woman with this long of dredlocks?

This was the most interesting highlight of our trip to Sam's Club this weekend!
I could NOT believe how long her hair was - it touched the floor while she was sitting down on a bench for crying out loud!!!
Think she is in need of some serious hair HELP!!!

Yep - Cash is enjoying the icecream sundae we always get while there!

10 months old and yet.............

Cash still does NOT:

Roll over that much (he can but just doesn't)

Have even ONE tooth
Get around much at all!

However, despite wondering if he will ever get his teeth and learn to crawl.......he is getting bigger by the day, and more fun all the time! My favorite things he CAN do:

Walk while holding onto my fingers (probably will walk before he ever crawls)
Say "mama", "dada", "uh-oh", "big", and "little" (uh-oh is my favorite)
Go underwater and come up smiling
splash like a madman in the tub
wake up every morning smiling and so happy
babble and talk SOOO much!
Read himself stories (so cute to listen to him)
play peek-a-boo
point with his fingers
love being outside in his stroller
love the pool

I can't believe how fast the time has gone, and how much he is learning every day! It is so fun to get to play with him each day and see all his little accomplishments.
Today at the pool was his first time going underwater and he was great! Think he will be a little fish soon!

playing in his floaty

lovin the pool

love this expression and happy face

for his dad

I LOVE you Daddy!!!

I love you Daddy cuz you are the best!
You have taught me well, how to play hard and then REST!

You are teaching me how to do new things everyday
To stand on my own, and to frolic and play

I find I am always looking up to you

and laughing and smiling at all that we do!

You take me out to eat, and even get me a hat!

And you let me drink soda - now "what's up with that?"

You share your "love for the game" with me now

So hopefully I will grow up being good at sports - and be your little "Cash cow!"

Yep - you make me so happy and you make me smile!

I love you so much I hope you will keep me for awhile!

You are fun to wrestle with and I just want to say!
I hope you have the Best Ever First Father's Day!!!

Love Cash!!!!!

1 week down, 3 to go!!!

When I started the cleanse I honestly didn't think I would be able to make it.
No sugar at all- come on, I am the BIGGEST sugar/sweets junkie there is!
However, I have made it an entire week on it so far, and am going strong!
I even made the trip to NC without breaking it - so I know I can finish!
I have now had NO:
FoR and ENTIRE week! It is so crazy! I normally can't live a day without fruit and icecream!
So this is a big HUGE deal for me!

The other part of this - Chip has done it with me and is going strong too - and he also had a trip to NY during it - which it was SO hard for him not to go to our favorite Pizza joint Rays!

So, no soda, no treats - what are we eating you might asK? Some of our favorites:
Turkey spaghettis sauce over Spaghetti squash (SOOOOOO good!)
Grilled salad with avocados, tomatos, cucumbers, and turkey bacon or chicken
Fresh squeezed carrot juice (we bought a juicer just for this)
egg omelet - chip has perfected this for us
turkey bacon

However, we are looking forward to adding fruit in next week! But so far, the results are great! We both have lost more than 6 lbs. each, and my stomach problems have gone away!

There and Back!

At 7:45 on friday night we decided, after previously deciding against it, to throw our stuff in the car and head down to Charlotte for a quick trip!
We showed up at midnight on friday!
Then, completed the following:
Paintballing all morning
Pool around lunchtime
Baby shower
BBQ and pool at night
Seeing new baby Liam who is 10 days old and cute as a button
Chilling, Chattin, and hanging out at night
church on sunday morning
And home by 4 pm sunday!

So it was very quick - but so much fun! We love going down and hanging with our friends there! Brannon and Jen are the best, always letting us crash there no matter how last minute!
Only bummer of the whole trip..........I forgot my camera - so no pics! Oh well!
Next time!

Wouldn't it be sad if...........

I didn't have this face to look at any longer!!

Chip has told me not to EVER give him my iron pill bottle to play with as a rattle, since iron overdose is the #1 children killer in America. However, I was playing with it with him, and so I figured it was ok and we were shaking it. He grabbed it, and somehow pulled the lid off and spilled pills everywhere!
Good thing I was there to hurry and pick them all up!
Guess daddy is ALWAYS right.
And also, pills are only adult-proofed - forget the fact they say CHILD-PROOF! Good thing I was with him..........and I DID learn my lesson! Never again, not even while we are playing together! Any ideas for another rattle/good shaker toy?

Sometimes it goes too fast.........

So I am realizing more and more how fast life really goes to fast. While there are some things that seem to go way to slow - as in getting over a cold, being done with this crazy cleanse, and waiting for the days to pass til my next trip somewhere, other things go so quickly I can barely remember how they were.

I have been thinking a lot lately how I am just in such a good time of life right now and I don't want the days I spend at home with little Cash to go away. I don't want to be thinking and worried about the dishes that need to be done in the sink, the house that needs picking up, the place we are moving to and packing up, etc etc. I just want to concentrate on spending time playing with him and soaking in all the little moments that are so precious every day!

I am enjoying immensely the joy that comes from staying at home just being a mommy.......altho that is a very BIG understatement I know! JUST being a mommy is the HUGEST job in the world! My job at B of A was way easier! However, I wouldn't trade it for the world.

I love reading books, rolling around on the carpet, crawling, walking with those tiny fingers holding onto mine, getting a giggle when I snuggle my head into his little tummy, taking him to the store and having everyone comment, having a little buddy all the time, going swimming and seeing his cute happiness from the water, and being there for all the other firsts. I can't believe how quickly this first year is slipping away. I just want to freeze time and soak it all in even more!

He will be 10 months this month and is just finally getting his first tooth. Although normally not a snuggly baby at all - yesterday all he wanted to do was snuggle up to me and lay and sleep in my arms. At first I was annoyed because I had things I had planned on getting done; however, then I realized how truly precious this time is and that everything else can wait! I am going to try to enjoy these precious moments as they come more because life truly does go to fast!

enjoying the moment of snuggle time - altho sad for his poor hurting gums!

Waiting for daddy after church that little expression of something sparking his interest!

cute little toes finally resting on the grass - he doesn't ever like it at first!

funny foot issue with grass!

Kevin - these are for you!

Day 1: Summer Cleanse Fun!!!

So I am not much for dieting -those who know me well know I can barely go a half a day w/out icecream!
However, I have been having major stomach problems the last few weeks and so have got to do something to fix it!
Solution: Cleanse to see if I am allergic to wheat, lactose intolerant, or something else is bugging me!

Thus, I am doing a 6 week cleanse:
First 2 weeks can have: meat, fish, eggs (NO red meat)!, salad, and veggies (only sweet potatoes - no other potatoes),
so wish me luck!!!

Chip has agreed to do it with me so here's to a LOT of salad and grilled veggie shishkabobs!!!
Hopefully we can make it!
If you have any recipes for good stuff with NO sugars in it - send it my way!!! HOpefully i will be feeling better soon!
