How Happy He Must Be!!!!

What a tender, sweet reunion this must have been!

I know I should have felt a sadness when I heard the news that our dear prophet had passed away! However, my first reaction was at how happy I was for him that he was finally back with his sweetheart. She passed away about 3 years ago, and I can't remember a talk from him since that he hasn't mentioned her, or how he missed her, or how he couldn't wait to see her again. I am happy that he has had that chance. I will miss his quick witted humor and wonderful talks, but feel blessed to have grown up during his time as president of the church. What a great legacy he left for us, what an incredible example and speaker he was to the whole world, and what a great example of hard work --- til the day he died he put in a full day's work every day, and at 97 that is an amazing thing to me! I have so many wonderful memories of hearing him speak at devotionals and in the conference center. How I loved when he would wave his cane at the crowd. His smile just made me feel so happy and full of hope at every speech! I am so grateful for the lessons learned, and the wonderful memories I have of him as our Prophet. I won't forget them. Below is a quote that has become very meaningful to me in the past few weeks as I have felt down with being so sick and not being able to do much but lay around on the couch! It is one of many inspiring quotes, and has become my motto daily! I am working on memorizing it and hope you enjoy it. I played this song earlier on the piano today and really have been thinking a lot about him the past few days: Praise to the Man! We love you our dear prophet and are happy you are in a better place with your sweetheart! I am sure she had something great to say when she saw him again! What a great couple to strive to be more like!

Quote:

“It isn’t as bad as you sometimes think it is. It all works out. Don’t worry. I say that to myself every morning. It will all work out. Put your trust in God, and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. The Lord will not forsake us. He will not forsake us. If we will put our trust in Him, if we will pray to Him, if we will live worthy of his blessings, He will hear our prayers.” Gordon B. Hinckley

Stephy-poo! I know I have been a bad blogger, I'm ashamed:) I can't believe you're on moderate bedrest! What the heck?! Yes the phone is still broken I still haven't found one I want to buy off the internet...I need to though and soon! Nobody's happy that I'm always unavailable...I'm on it!! So I asked Brandon what he thought of going down Valentine's weekend and he said..."that would be fun." Wahoo, that means I can for sure talk him into it! We wouldn't be able to come until Fri night, but it would be a blast from the past! I freakin miss you SSSssoooooooooOOO much! Love ya! P.S. I'm making it my mission to find a new phone this weekend!:)

Thanks for sharing your thoughts about President Hinckley. I really liked the quote you put on there. I was touched when I saw how many friends and family have written something about President Hinckley.

Steph-that is one of my favorite quotes from President Hinckley. I'm glad you posted it because I have had a hard time trying to find it again.

Congratulations with the little one on its way!!!

I agree...he will be sadly missed but we are all so blessed to have had him a part of our lives for so long. What a great reunion that must have been.

How are you doing? Starting to feel any better? Did you tell me you were on bedrest? I hope things are getting better. Please let me know!
