I AM BACK......and have BIG NEWS!!!!

So we are joining the ranks, and will becoming PARENTS this year!!! We are super excited, I am sick as a dog, and feel like this little baby above but with the question "is it almost over yet?" I have been extremely sick this last week, had a little trip to the ER this last Tuesday at 4 am, and yet all ended well (pretty well that is), with the first appointment which was also on Tuesday at 8:30 am (go figure the emergency couldn't wait just a few more hours huh?).

It was an amazing experience getting to see the first picture of our future baby, hearing that the heartbeat was ok and that everything should be good going forward. I am terrified of needles, and while in the ER apparently was a little out of it but kept repeating to Chip that "I was being a soldier", and asking that if I was good throughout my stay we could go get donuts afterward. It was a pretty crazy experience. However, after having my blood drawn TWICE in one day, experiencing more than enough pain from the headaches and nausea than I thought I could stand, crying multiple times to the greatest mom ever, and sleeping only 3 hours in a span of 4 days because of the insomnia and overwhelming illness I felt, I did finally get some rest. I slept yesterday after arriving home from the Dr. and, of course, getting my donuts, from 10 am- 5pm, and then got a full night's sleep from 11 pm -8 am this morning. Thank you heavy medication!!!!!! It was much needed, and for the first time in 2 weeks I feel like I have a little life in me!

So now, I am calling all mothers, for your advice. I am scared, have no clue what I am doing, and am totally new to the idea of becoming a Mommy!!! Any advice for making the pregnancy easier, tips for preparing, or anything related to pregnancy at all is NOWrequested!!!! Fill me in! I found out I am 8 weeks and 6 days along, meaning the due date is August 21. So off we go to embark on this amazing journey. I really want to hear your thoughts!

I also will be better at posting now that I am feeling a little better! Happy New Year to everyone!

congratulations! i'm sure chip already told you that i'm pregnant too-- due about a month before you. i have been DOG sick ever since thanksgiving and now that i'm close to 14 weeks, i am pretty much starting to feel back to normal.

i wish i had advice on how to make the pregnancy easier. i have been sicker with each one and this one has been REALLY hard so far. all i can say is don't be afraid to just let everything go. don't worry about doing anything other than trying to rest and eating a little if you can keep it down! exercise is something that has always helped me too. even on the days where i feel like i can't move, if i can just get my blood pumping a little, i feel WORLDS better. i'd be happy to talk sometime if you want!

Stephers CONGRATULATIONS!!! I am so happy for you guys. I am so sorry that you are sick though that is not fun. My advice for labor is get an epidural! They are amazing. The last thing is nurse your baby! It is hard to get the hang of nursing at first but it is so worth it and it is the fastest and best way to get all the prego weight off because you give all your calories to your chubby little one...it is great. Congrats again! Can't wait to hear what you are having.

I can't tell you how excited I am for you. That is great news. You are going to be such a great mom. Blake is my first so I feel like most days I am flying by the seat of my pants so I really shouldn't pass on any advice except take naps!! Lots of them!! You desearve it for growing a little human being inside of you. Congrats to you both.

It has been so much fun talking to you on the phone! I am still so excited for you guys! It was fun to see your ultrasound. Call me whenever you want...you can always complain to me. I am glad things are getting better. Hang in there.

Congratulations!!! That is so great. I am so excited for you guys! Being parents is the best thing ever...especially being a mom.

And just keep going. It is so hard and I was always so sick, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. It gets better. This past pregnancy, Zofran saved my life. Ask your doctor about it. It is a drug that helps with the nausea. They will give you Fenegran, but it didn't work for me and made me so drowsy I couldn't function. Let me know what else you need...hang in there. How exciting! Congrats again!!!

Congratulations! I am so excited for you guys to be parents. It really is the best!
I am sorry that you are feeling so terrible. It really stinks, and the bad part is, there is nothing you can do for the first weeks of pregnancy. It is not a fun feeling at all. I really feel for you. If possible, I would say keep exercising! Even on the days I felt terrible I would exercise and it helped a little.
I am thrilled for you guys! Hang in there!

Hip hip hooray! i'm so happy for the browns. Honestly, i know it doesn't seem like it, but someday, closer than you think, you will have a baby to hold and all the vomiting will seem worth it! You'll hear all the hardships of pregnancy and parenthood, but the pure joy you two will feel exceeds any pain. Yup, still have the same phone #. Give me a call if you have any questions. P.S. have you done the vitamin b6 and 1/2 a unisom before bed? it totally helped trim the nausea for me
P.P.S. Emmett is excited to have a friend to play with when he visits Grandma's.

Stephanie - congrats! I'm so excited for you guys! The best advice I can give you for your pregnancy would be to keep moving! It really does make the recovery after the baby so much easier. And this may sound like a contradiction, but I would also say rest a lot too. It IS possible to do both :)Okay, so keep us posted. Congrats again!!

Ahhhh! I'm so excited for you two! Huge Congrats! I'm sure Charlotte is going to be a little more family friendly than NY:) I just helped a lady carry her stroller up the stairs from the train...awful.
I'm getting married in LA on March 7th. My fiancĂ© works for a commercial real estate company in LA. I'm happily leaving E&Y in a week and moving to LA! We've been dating for 1 1/2 years and met through Nate Defries (gotta love accounting). I’m sure you can sympathize with the long distance relationship and long distance wedding planning…sucks!!! Anyway, I'll be checking your blog often and I can't wait to read about all the baby updates!!!

Wahoo! I love that we are prego at the same time, I'm sorry about your sickness! I haven't been nearly that sick, I'm pretty lucky I guess. So...phone still broken...I can see your texts and thats it I can't call out recieve calls or text, and the main menu won't work so give me your number and I'll call you on Brandon's phone when he gets home tonight. I've been dying to talk to you though! I miss you!

Congrats Steph and Chip! Parenthood is the best thing in the world!

I'm sorry about the ER trip. No fun.

One thing that helped me with the morning sickness was eating some soda crackers as gingerale before I even got out of bed every morning. You could try that.

Well, your time has come!! I remember so well when I was in your shoes and I didn't know anything about being a mom. But I knew I wanted to be a mom more than anything else, EVER!! And after 26+ years, it is still my favorite thing in the world. There is NOTHING that compares with a baby hugging your neck, a toddler running to show you a bug, or a teenager texting you "I love you mommy, wommy." (true experience). Being a mother is more important than anything in the whole world. I should know! I was lucky enough to be YOUR mother!!!!!! Thanks for all the good years, and you can look forward to having many wonderful (and a few hard) experiences. You will be awesome.
Mom

It was so good seeing you both again. We had a great time. I am so sorry I did not wake up earlier so you could have enjoyed our fabulous pancake breakfast. We even made Magleby's syrup! I hope your trip back went well. Trent was wondering where Chip went!!! Talk to you later.
Love, Amanda

hope you are feeling better. some advice...i would just say that exercise and eating healthy and frequently make a huge difference. i was much sicker with landon that i was with jarrett. i didn't throw up too much, but was definitely nauseous if i didn't eat all the time and i had migraines. the only thing that helped with migraines was to slow down. the doctor recommended working part time in order to let my body relax and to take naps when needed. this made a world of difference. they didn't go away completely, but they got better. (my er visit was due to a migraine).

i would just say sleep when you can, eat often (the weight will come off) and keep moving. enjoy these last few months with just chip. life will never be the same, but will be so great in a new way!

let me know if you need anything.

congrats!! i've been meaning to leave you a comment for the past few weeks and haven't gotten around to it! so finally...yay for you guys! as far as advice goes...i really don't know what to say! every pregnancy and delivery is sooo incredibly different it's hard to say that you HAVE to do things a certain way b/c what worked for me might not work for you. so i guess in a weird way that's my advice...follow YOUR gut feelings now & once you have this little baby. you get so much advice...and many times it's conflicting advice! i remember being soo confused about what i should do for this or that & really only YOU know what is best for YOU and your little baby, so do that and really it all works out in the end! :)
