I will actually document this going backwards - from Sunday, June 29th first! We had a super busy week, packed full of fun, family, and friends! The best Summer Recipe Ever - right?!
June 29th: We donned our patriotic outfits and went to church - had a GREAT GREAT day! Kids looked so cute before that I had to get some pics!
I wanted a pic too in my stars and stripes outfit - got these pieces at different times but they made for a really perfect stars and stripes outfit yeah!?! The first pic is awkward shot and makes me look like i have a pooch belly - but ivy looks great so oh well! Cash shooting the pic up is just not too flattering!
So he moved to the step and shot better and Ivy was done with the pics so Griff jumped in - love my kiddos and the 4th! Great way to start the week thinking about our Freedom!
Of course Sunday dinner is always delicious at Grammy's and this was no exception - Cash was using his corn as a microphone and enjoying it a ton so had to get a pic!
We also had a great time playing 4 square, a check off our list and super fun with the kiddos!
Then we went and toured Grandpa Rosen's new pad to see where he is now living and it was so fun! It is really nice and a great thing they do - where the rent includes breakfast and dinner every single day (and you can buy lunch if you want) and they get to eat together with others and the place is brand new and super nice and modern and just awesome. Ivy and Grandpa and Grammy were waiting here with Great Grandma Rosen's wheelchair to help her come too - Papa Dave and the boys were picking her up from Jamestown and bringing her. Ivy took advantage of the free chair!
Ivy chilling!
Grandpa's new place, enjoying for a minute. Grandma Rosen was getting upset at the kids jumping on her bedspread and couldn't get passed the fact they might ruin it so we ended up not staying too long and heading out to visit some friends of ours in Alpine!
Reunited with the Aden family and the Crofts. So much fun! The Aden's have a beautiful home and a great backyard that actually includes the whole church lot yard - so a kids dream! Also includes a cool castle they built and that is super fun! Love how when kids reunite it takes no time at all to be back to best buds and play awesome! The kids had a blast with these guys!
Cecia and me - selfie shot (ok Tyler actually took this - haha)
Fun that altho we only live 45 minutes away in Cali from each other we can reunite here in Utah too! Way too much fun!
June 28th: Saturday we set out with Grammy and Papa and Sam to hike Stuart Falls - super beautiful and supposedly an easy hike - altho when Papa tried to direct us to an even "easier" way back somehow we got off and the hike back added an extra mile of steep hiking and hot and "not so fuN" as Cash said. It was a fun adventure nonetheless - and it was good to have Papa and Sam to help carry the kiddos!
The way up!
Stopping for some snacks!
We made it!!!! SO beautiful!
Ivy was fascinated by the dirt and rocks at this point! Otherwise she was being carried!
Buddies the whole way - aka Sam carried G the whole way! Up and down!
On the way down I carried Ivy for the first mile up and then back and she was completely asleep on my shoulder - when I couldn't do it anymore Papa took over and she stayed asleep for most of the way down! Amazing for her - she was SO tired!
Almost done - Kuddos to Cash who walked the entire way by himself - over 5 miles so big deal! Super hiker!
When we got back it was car washing time - Ivy and Griff were my super helpers!
For dinner we went to the Malt Shop - a fun place for the kids to check out! They loved it! Here G was taking a break and laying down between eating his fries and nuggets and shake!
Ivy had a blast and ate all her food too and loved dancing to the tunes playing!
The reason we went there - the yummy malts!
Sam came and helped me out - altho was leaving on a date after so him and I didn't eat!
The kids and I then went to Riverwoods to enjoy the outdoor music, the carousel, the arcades, and a Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory Carameled apple! Fun night!
They also got chocolate gold coins that they loved!
Griff picked out the apple and it didn't disappoint!
Friday, June 27, 2014: A trip to the aquarium!
We went up to the Draper aquarium with my cousin Lisa and her 5 children and had a blast walking around and hanging with them. It was a cool place!
My favorite is always the jellyfish!
Learned something new about the penguins - the only way to tell a male from a female is by taking a blood test! Had no idea! They were really fun to watch!
Seeing if they matched the height of the penguins! Kids got along great!
Cash did the ropes course!
These pics don't do it justice but the fish in this tank were HUGE!!!! We had fun trying to guess how much they weighed!
Playing in the largest Shark that ever lived mouth!
All the kids!
Lisa and me! Super great to see her!
Thursday, June 26, 2014: Last day of swim and tennis for the week!
The kids have been loving their classes and doing well - after they were over we met the Wakefields at the Provo Rec and the boys had an absolute blast together! Miles and Easton and Cade were so great to my boys and they keep asking when we can hang out again!
Didn't manage to take any pics til we were leaving!
Chattying it up!
They got to go off the diving board for the first time this day! Cash did great - Griff went the first time but then refused to go any more and still hasn't. He did great but somehow is still scared!
Nervous boy!
Ivy is getting great at going under the water, blowing bubbles, laying on her back and floating, and just being not scared of the water. She is LOVING lessons!
Wednesday, June 25, 2014: We lOVE family!
Aside from the swimming, tennis, and all other fun activities, these kids LOVE just spending time with their uncles, Alex, and Sam! They are so great to my kids and my kids adore them!
Hanging with Sammy!
Playing games outside!
Tuesday, June 24, 2014: Fun with friends.
We have seen so many friends, who also happen to be in town for different reasons while here. Super fun to get to hang with my BFF and her kids who are in town from Texas. We showed them the fun of the Provo Rec center - they loved it too!
Learning more at swim!
Monday, June 23, 2014: Start of Swim and Tennis!
Today started out with a long run for me - it was HARD, and I was hot, and tired, and got a sideache - but I didn't have hip pain, and I did it - so that is what counts!
Grammy helped the kids build this awesome fort outside, and they are loving playing in it!
Then Cash started tennis - which actually had a rocky beginning with tears and worry and fear, but ended on a great note with him loving it and wanting to be in the class and he loved it and did great! It is hard when you are the smallest and youngest and don't know anybody - but by the end he was the life of the lessons! Love him and he actually has a lot of talent!
The kids started swim at Riverside and that was great too! They are all loving it!
Before they met their teachers!
Ivy LOVES the water and had a blast!
The boys did too!
After we met up with our friends and went to Provo Rec. We love Kate and her cute little bro Noah and it was so good to catch up with Bonnie! Forever friends!
It was a great week! We love Utah Summers!
